MEDDOPLACE Task Info

MEDDOPLACE challenges participants to create systems for four subtasks: (a) location and location-related entities detection; (b) entity normalization/geocoding to GeoNames, PlusCodes and SNOMED CT (depending on entity type); (c) location entity classification and (d) end-to-end evaluation of detection, normalization and classification. Participants are free to create their systems in any way they want, be it systems specific for only one task or end-to-end systems to solve all tasks. Creative solutions are encouraged. All systems must be trained and evaluated using the MEDDOPLACE corpus (see Data tab), a collection of 1000 clinical case reports manually annotated by experts.
